THE SVARTSINN STORY

Sometime between 1992-98... The name Svartsinn was just a name I used to call myself, but not really knowing what connection to use it in. It was the time when I was searching around for gloomy, dismal and dark/moody music. I stumbled across a few songs on an unnamed cd I borrowed from a friend and realized that this music was exactly what I was looking for! I wanted to create something like this myself since I did't know where to look. Hćrleif of Northaunt gave me the computer software and showed me the path.

1999-200? Creativity pays off!
Late '99 I had 6 songs that was a story about some tough times and also a tribute to places I'd go to get away from it all. "Devouring Conciousness - demo" came to life and was self released. I uploaded songs to MP3.com and received a lot of positive feedback. Demo's shipped out in late 2000 and Mauro at Eibon Records got in touch which led to the release of my debut cd "Devouring conciousness"! Through MP3.com I got to know Frédéric Arbour of Instincts/Cyclic Law, he offered me to join the compilation Nord Ambient Alliance which I gladly accepted. This was the beginning of a friendship and also lead to the release of Svartsinn's 2nd album "Of Darkness And Re-creation". Cyclic Law is now Svartsinn's home. I have also contributed songs for a few other compilations and also some movies.I'm sure it won't end here!
